Booking your first trip into Nevidio is exciting, but it is natural to wonder what the day actually looks like. The good news is that we have refined our routine over many years, so everything runs smoothly from the moment you arrive. Here is a clear, hour-by-hour picture of a canyoning day with us, so you know exactly what to expect — and can simply enjoy the adventure.
10:00 — Meeting at Restaurant "Jatak"
Your day begins at 10:00, when we all meet at Restaurant "Jatak". It is an easy place to find and a relaxed spot to gather before heading into the mountains. Arrive a few minutes early if you can, grab a coffee, and meet the rest of your small group. This is also the moment to ask us any last questions while everyone settles in.
10:15 — Equipment fitting and safety briefing
From around 10:15 we begin fitting your equipment. The water in Nevidio is genuinely cold — often around 10°C even in midsummer — so the right gear is essential. We provide everything you need, and our guides make sure each piece fits you properly before we set off.
- A 5 mm wetsuit to keep you warm in the cold mountain water
- Neoprene socks and professional canyon shoes for grip and comfort
- A helmet and harness, fitted and checked by your guide
Once everyone is kitted out, we run through a full safety briefing. We explain how to move through the canyon, how to enter the water, how the optional jumps and slides work, and the simple hand signals we use as a group. By the time we finish, you will feel confident and ready.
A short scenic hike to the canyon
From the meeting point, a short scenic hike leads to the canyon entrance. It is a gentle warm-up rather than a serious trek, and it gives you your first views of the dramatic Durmitor landscape. As the walls of Nevidio rise ahead of you, the anticipation builds — this is where the "Unseen" canyon reveals itself.
11:00 to 15:00 — The canyoning adventure
The canyoning itself runs roughly from 11:00 to 15:00, around four hours of pure adventure downstream. There is no abseiling required on our Nevidio route — instead, the whole journey is about moving with the water through one of Europe's most beautiful canyons. Your guide leads the way and stays close throughout.
- Swimming through emerald pools fed by cold mountain water
- Optional jumps into deep natural basins
- Sliding down natural water toboggans polished smooth by the current
- Scrambling over rocks and passing through narrow, cathedral-like passages
Every jump is completely optional, and there is always an easier alternative, so you can choose your own level of thrill. If you would rather climb down than leap, that is absolutely fine. Throughout the trip our guides capture GoPro photos and videos for you, so you can stay in the moment and relive the day afterwards — these are included at no extra cost.
What is included
We like to keep things simple, so almost everything you need for the day is covered by your booking:
- All technical equipment — wetsuit, socks, shoes, helmet and harness
- A licensed guide leading your small group
- Insurance and taxes
- Photos and videos taken during the trip
- Water and a small chocolate to keep your energy up along the way
What to bring and good to know
To make the most of the day, please bring your swimwear and a towel. You will wear your swimwear under the wetsuit, and the towel is for drying off once you finish. There are a few important points to keep in mind before you book.
- All participants must be able to swim, as the route involves swimming through deep pools.
- Minors are welcome only when accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- A Komarnica–Dragišnica Nature Park entrance fee is paid separately.
Beyond that, all you really need to bring is a sense of adventure. We take care of the rest, from the moment you arrive at 10:00 to the final stretch of canyon four hours later.
